I cut my teeth on this project as a texture painter and lookdev artist after school hours.
It was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate, learn and experience in a production environment.
Some of my contributions on the film:
Godaizer Main Battle Robot

Designed and hand painted high resolution textures across multiple pieces (70+ maps) ( and Look development of the main robot Godaizer with additional look development by Chia Ying Heng.

An introduction on the workflow and the reference for the texture and look development process that I narrated.

Underground Laboratory

Designed and painted textures for the assets in the laboratory. Projection painted in maya and photoshop and later baked textures into the geometry to use in other shots. Lighting and Monster by Hillary Yeo.

Also painted textures for Ah Boy's living room and fighter jets.

The animated short is an observation on current Singaporean situation of child rearing, where parents hot-house their child by pushing him through numerous "enrichment classes" in order to prepare and give him a head start in the future and hasten the reaching of his potential.

What kind of parent would a 50-foot monster be? Will the challenges and woes be multiplied accordingly? Will the parent's aspirations and dreams for his child ever be fulfilled?
